Under the Tree at MAKE Southwest - 25th November to 28th January

I am delighted that Ruby Cubes will be exhibiting at MAKE Southwest's Christmas exhibition "Under the Tree" this year. I will be sending a collection of Biro Graphic and House collection pieces to brighten your present giving this season.

    Exhibition details below:

    Our annual Christmas show

    25 November 2022 – 28 January 2023

Our annual Christmas exhibition, this year integrated throughout our downstairs galleries, is open to makers across the UK, and showcases the work of up to 50 designer-makers based throughout the whole of the UK. It is a great opportunity for our visitors to get to know craftspeople from further afield. The mix of small-scale batch producers and one-off pieces in a range of price points is always of a high quality and from a diverse selection of disciplines, celebrating the incredible skill of British makers.

It is a brilliant antithesis to the commerciality of high street/online Christmas. Here you will see and be able to buy work that has been made by hand, ethically and using materials and techniques that have been thought about and honed, while also supporting small businesses. You will be able to buy much of this work online too.

Buy less, choose well and buy them something that will last, to bastardise the always relevant words of Vivienne Westwood!

  • Exhibition at Unit Twelve: Extraordinary Everyday 8th Sept- 17th Dec 2022

Exhibition at Unit Twelve: Extraordinary Everyday 8th Sept- 17th Dec 2022

I am delighted to have my new collection Biro Graphic featured in this fantastic exhibition at Unit Twelve:

Picture a day in your life... Perhaps that first sip of coffee to kickstart the morning. Consider reaching for your favourite mug, the one that brings a smile, the one that your hands curve around just perfectly, the one that is the perfect size for the perfect cup full. The simple joy in that small moment. Just one of many everyday routines, yet even the most mundane of tasks becomes more magical when using objects that are not just functional but beautiful too. This exhibition, curated by Fran Buxton, encourages you to embrace a slower pace even if only for a few minutes, to look inwards at your daily rituals, to celebrate life’s small pleasures; a true appreciation of the “Extraordinary Everyday” With work from: Candy Coated Accessories, Sal Broadhurst, Studio Critical, Lino Lord, Emma Johnson, Ruby Cubes, Peter Lanyon, Beci Callow, Roslyn Leitch, Rekha Maker, Tapponwood and Scarlet Knitwear.

  • Biro Graphic - Limited Edition - Pre Orders open for early October delivery

Three objects from the Biro Graphic collection feature in this image - a textile wall hanger, a textile vessel and textile tray. The colour is neutral with a black, blue and red motif reminiscent of biro pens.

Now open for Pre orders - Biro Graphic is the new collection of work by textile artist Jessica Geach. A happy trio of three products, the biro graphic motif was inspired by the bold colour palette of biro pens and journalling. Each product is absolutely intended to be used in daily life.

Biro Graphic Wall hanger - features a secured hook on the back to allow the hanger to be attached the wall and become a home for your favourite scarf, blanket, or even hand towel.

Biro Graphic Vessel - featuring the bold motif and intended to be a home for smaller objects and can live in any room of the house.

Biro Graphic Tray - the smallest item in the collection, features the biro graphic motif and is intended to be a safe harbour for precious items such as rings or earrings or even keys.

Each object can provide a service in the home and be utilised again and again whilst also being aesthetically pleasing. This has always been a foundational cornerstone of the Ruby Cubes and this collection refocuses that vision.

A note from Jessica on the creation of this limited edition collection:

"Biro Graphic was teased out of my mind whilst creating work for "The Extraordinary Everyday" Exhibition at Unit Twelve, which you can find out more about here. There is a connection between the everydayness of using a biro pen and the ability to utilise the objects in Biro Graphic in every day life."

Orders placed before 1st October 2022 will be shipped in early October. The special price will be honoured until 1st October 2022 when the price will revert to the full amount.

The Gallery at Liberty of London in partnership with the Crafts Council

In early 2022 I was absolutely delighted to be chosen as one of a handful of makers for this amazing project. Keeping it a secret was truly a challenge and I have been working on the pieces over the last few months in preparation for the launch  - which took place on April 21st. This has been an incredible opportunity to present some of the larger pieces in my portfolio - such as the sculptural & laundry baskets, which I usually only make to commission.

You can find the official information (and links) about this fantastic project below:

The Gallery, curated by Liberty of London in partnership with the Crafts Council

For a limited period, we present a selection of work from independent makers, showcasing the range and breadth of contemporary craft in the UK today. Their work will be displayed and offered alongside our own Liberty designs.

Prices start from £30 and can be bought in store, online libertylondon.com or made to order.
